2026 BC Property Assessments Are Now Available

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and enjoyed some quality time with family and friends. Hard to believe we’re already diving into 2026 — time really does fly.

BC Assessment has now released the 2026 property assessments, which means you can see the government’s current assessed value of your home. If you’re curious, you can look it up online anytime.

A quick (and important) reminder: this is not a market value. Your assessment reflects BC Assessment’s estimate of your property’s value as of July 1, 2025 — essentially a snapshot in time.

What your assessment really tells you

• It’s used to help calculate your annual property taxes

• It often lags behind current market conditions

• Two homes with similar assessments can sell for very different prices depending on renovations, condition, location nuances, and buyer demand
